Youth-led international development agency SPW rebranded as Restless Development

SPW, the award winning international development agency, has been rebranded as Restless Development following a massive consultation with young people across Africa and Asia, development leaders and the public, with the support of creative consultancy Figtree.

Restless Development turns traditional misconceptions about young people on their head. The agency is the global leader in engaging young people to address the urgent issues affecting their lives, communities and countries – demonstrating at all levels what young people can achieve and contribute to development.

Chief Executive, Eric Levine, said: “Staff and young professionals across the organisation worldwide have contributed to the development of the new brand. Restless Development better captures our youth-led mission and ambitions to empower young people in the most underserved communities and bring their voice and knowledge to the highest corridors of power and policy”.

He added: “More than 50% of the world’s population is made up of young people. That is so much energy, skill and human resource. We simply can not do development without the full participation of young people. Only by engaging with young people as an asset will we resolve the issues that face our world”.

Benjamin Mwape, Partnerships and Communications Coordinator based in Zambia, commented: “I’m doing this because I genuinely feel we can change things. There’s something inside me and my fellow young colleagues that says we must do this.”

The youth-led mission, work and values of the organisation will remain the same, just more powerfully communicated under the new brand which will be rolled out worldwide over the coming months.
