International Placements

We offer a range of structured international placements.

Whether you're looking for a research assignment, a community based placement, or have a particular skill area you would like to transfer to the development sector, our international placements offer structured and meaningful opportunities in our country programmes in Africa and Asia.

If you are not based in the UK, Europe or North America, please look at where we are and contact your nearest country programme office for ways to get involved.

Long term placements

Are you a young person aged 18-28 looking to live and work in a rural community alongside national volunteers for 6 months, rolling out sustainable and effective grassroots development programmes? You could be one of our International Volunteer Peer Educators in Uganda.

Short term placements

Are you a young person looking for a 3 month placement in one of our country programmes? Working directly with the UK government, we are delighted to be launching a new short term International Volunteering Programme.

Technical Assistant

Are you a recent Masters graduate looking to put your academic experience into practice?  Or are you a professional looking for an opportunity to use your skills and experience in a new, challenging environment and to share them with our youthful and dynamic staff in one of our Country Programme offices?  You could be one of our Technical Assistants. These placements are based on the changing needs of our country programmes and come up occasionally during the year.
