How

To speak to a member of the Restless Development International Citizen Service (ICS) team, please call 0207 808 1780 or email ics-enquiries@restlessdevelopment.org.

If you are successful at the application stage, you will be invited to a selection day where you’ll do some interactive group activities and have an interview. Selection days are not formal as they are all about us getting to know you and you learning more about the programme.

To ensure that cost is not a barrier to people participating in ICS, costs for the scheme are covered, but all volunteers will have to fundraise £800 before going on their placement. You will be provided with flights, visas, travel and medical insurance, all necessary medication and vaccines, food and accommodation, and full support throughout the whole programme.

We will give you support and advice with your fundraising. Not only is fundraising a way to develop skills and have fun, research shows that volunteers who fundraise often get more out of programmes like ICS.

'For anybody reading this between the ages of 18-25, I’d strongly encourage you to apply for ICS. This is a great chance for you to go abroad and work and develop some invaluable life skills. You just need to be a young, enthusiastic and open minded person with three months free!' Jordan, Restless Development ICS volunteer, Nepal 2011.
